  • NEW FUEL DISCOUNT PROGRAM

Posted by Archived on July 23, 2019 at 2:34 pm

THIS IS A BIG DEAL AND WILL BE HARD TO PASS UP!!!!

First and most important it needs to be known that we are able to bring this program about because one of our very important members, Rudy Leggitt made us aware of the program and actually broke the ground for us by contacting the provider. Rudy is already well known for his assistance on Aqua-Hot technical matters and this time he has outdone himself. Rudy, thank you and I hope we can somehow do more than say thanks.

YOU WILL ALL BE NOTIFIED ON THE FORUM WHEN THE PROGRAM IS INSTALLED AND AVAILABLE, BUT BELOW IS A PREVIEW OF WHAT IS COMING.

The fuel discount program will be through TSD Logistics. It shares some features with our existing program but has some very beneficial advantages that I am going to list below.

It starts with clicking on the Fuel Discount program button on the RH side of the forum listings. You enter the application process the same was as previously, by supplying a Prevost VIN or one I have supplied to some of you.

Once you complete the Prevost Community part of the process you are at the TSD Logistics part and you will be asked to fill out two forms, one for the ACH Debit, and the second form for the card information.

As the current program provides you will use the card as follows: Swipe the card, and then provide the security information requested at the pump. Pump your fuel and drive away. You will be provided with the email with your transaction information within a day or so.

Here is where it starts to get good, and why you all need to think of what you want to send Rudy for Christmas every time you fill your coach.

You will receive email notices so you can look by state and city at the current discount price. As typical examples I looked at several locations I have used for fuel or plan to use for fuel. In each case my savings at Love’s was $.56, $.43, and $.43. TSD Logistics retains 10% of the savings so as you can see from those three examples my savings range from about $.38 to $.50. More realistically you can expect to see savings in the $.30 to .40 range. Members will get the discounted fuel pricing lists automatically.

If the existing 10 cent program savings hasn’t seem worth enrolling in the program the savings amount now likely should justify every one of us jumping on board this opportunity.

As if the savings amounts aren’t enough to encourage participation, how about if we add some more benefits? There is no annual fee. Let me repeat that. You can sign up for the program and get a card and you haven’t spent a penny at that point. Still not happy? Here’s another benefit. We want you to use the program to buy high volume fuel purchases, like in excess of 100 gallons. But there are times when it makes sense to just top off the tank, and if all you can take on is 50 gallons there is no handling charge regardless of the amount. All we ask is that you do not abuse this benefit.

I know every one of you feels guilty because you aren’t sending in your dues money. Here is how you can show Tom and I how much you appreciate the PC site and what it means to you by signing up for this program. The reason is simple. TSD is in a better position to negotiate for better fuel discounts when a lot of fuel is purchased through their program. Those better discounts flow through to us as discounts at the pump.

Like the other discount programs offered by PC our members receive 100% of the benefits. All we are asking is that we all help each other by taking advantage of all the programs so those providing the programs can benefit and in turn see PC as deserving of the opportunities to participate.

    Thanks again Rudy.

Now to add to my post above, I just sent a password to our newest member Gina Leeper who is with TSD Logistics and has been instrumental in making our access to this opportunity smooth.

I hope she will introduce herself and answer any questions or address any comments you might have.

I just talked to my grass farm friend. The discount price for diesel at Baytown, TX, Love’s near him is less than the bulk road diesel he buys for the farm at 3000 to 5000 gallons per delivery.

This is a serious discount when we are only getting 100 to 300 gallons.

So is the current plan going away? What is the process to leave the current program?

Many thanks to Rudy for helping get this program going.

There is no change in our current program with Profit Tools.

Like the existing program with Profit Tools which will remain in place the card issued with work at a lot of locations, including mom and pop places, and big travel centers like Pilot Flying J, but the deep discounts are going to be with Love’s.

Our web guru Joe is working on bringing this alive and we have some admin issues to address, but as it stands right now a member can participate in any or all of the programs for fuel discounts, in addition to one now in process but not ready for announcement.

I intend to participate in both the Profit and TSD programs as well as the third one in the works.

I see that this same program is being mentioned on the RV.Net forum.

    https://www.tsdlogistics.com/services/fuel-program/

Is there an added benefit here that would require a Prevost VIN or is the program open to all diesel RV and truck owners?

Will PC at least get the referral fees they offer? I hope so!

I received the TSD card while traveling so haven’t used it yet. On the way back from TN, we filled up at a Loves in VA and used the Profit card. Price was $2.89 less a 10 cent discount so we paid $2.78.

When I got home, I found the TSD that had come in the mail. The literature seemed to say if I got on their web site I could find the net price after savings of many Love’s stations. I got on their web site and it said the price at the same station I filled up at is $2.89, which would appear to be the price at the pump? If that is truly their net price it would have cost me $.10/gallon to use their card. How do I find out what their actual price might be before I start pumping?

    Dick,

TSD can send you a daily discount price for various stations. I ask for a sample of Loves and Pilot.

I checked the discount diesel price at all VA Loves and found it varied from $2.399 to $2.499.

I called Gina and ask how we would know of a particular stations price? She said that as an active card holder you will receive an email each day showing their stations discount fuel price. So when you card is activated, watch your email.

Bill, Neither PC or Tom or I will get fees. Every dollar of savings on any program goes to our members.

Yes you can sign up for TSD on numerous sites, including their own, but what PC will bring to the table is we will screen applicants using our site as the portal to make sure they own a vehicle or coach that is going to take on large volumes of fuel at one time.

Right now TSD has no penalty or added cost for small purchases, but let me assure everyone if the marketplace using the program starts using it to make small purchases TSD is going to re-evaluate their costs of handling each transaction and may begin to change the discount level of compensation or start charging transaction fees. Since they opened it up to the entire RV market my concern is people using their diesel pickups that take on 20 gallons only are going to drive up costs and we (you and I) will pay the cost of serving that segment of the market.

Gina and I discussed this issue and our screening which is using a Prevost VIN or one I assign to large RVs like Newells, Bluebirds and Foretravels does protect the program.

We would like everyone to access the application through PC because PC needs to demonstrate to our advertisers and discount program suppliers we can deliver the business and since those are the folks making all of PC possible going off the reservation doesn’t help PC or our advertisers or program providers understand PC is a value to them.

As an added note, I think the way we will have access set up is going to be extremely easy for those already participating with Profit. Under the fuel discount button will be the verbiage describing the programs. If you are already a Profit participant, click the box to participate in the new program, and the system will recognize you have already provided a VIN and you will go direct to the TSD application. People not yet in the fuel discount program will onlyhave a little more effort required, primarily putting in their VIN.

We are getting close to bringing this alive so please be patient, enroll through PC, and then enjoy big savings as Rudy described.

If we want to turn off the existing Profit program how will we do that?

two side notes, 1) the last time I tried to use my profit card it was declined as “inactive”. I never followed up to know why. It may be that credit cards expired and they could not get the annual fee. I have only bought fuel once since then and I paid the Love’s cash price. I may already be on the outside.

    2) I just don’t buy enough fuel, after the annual fee I was maybe maybe saving $100 annually. I don’t need multiple programs and don’t need to pay for one I’m not using.

To turn off Profit don’t allow access to you credit card or email or call Deb Nau.

Since your registration to the program is already in our system if you want to participate in the new program all you will have to do is click the button when we get it alive. It will pull the data already provided.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the new TSD Fuel discount program is alive and ready for business.

Make sure you are logged in, click the fuel discount button, click to select the provider, and if you have not participated in the Profit program enter your VIN. If you have previously participated your VIN will automatically be entered and all you have to do is click on submit to leave our site and enter the TSD site.

If you do not have a Prevost and you need a VIN to apply to TSD, email me or admin and if you have a vehicle that can take at least 100 gallons you will get a VIN assigned to you.

If there are any problems let me know via email or this thread.

The discounts available are significant so do not pass up the opportunity to take advantage of them. If you feel guilty about saving so much money on fuel feel free to send Rudy, Tom and I a simple gesture of appreciation, such as a Rolex.
