New Featherlite
Finally found the coach we liked and purchased it 1999 Featherlite Vantare,great coach needs a little tlc we are working at that now having a blast in Beaumot Tx. We found one thing we can’t figure out,we have an auxiliary compressor in the front drivers side compartment and one in with the water tanks near the right rear, can anyone tell me why there is 2 compressors and what each one does as neither one has run yet and we are plugged in to shore power, thanks in advance if anyone camp help.

I can’t remember how Vantare did their air systems but on my Royale the air compressor under the driver is tied to the HWH leveling system and the air compressor above my Aqua-hot is for the auxiliary air. The air compressor under the driver comes on only when the HWH is leveling the coach.

On my 1998 Vantare XL, there was a compressor inside the generator “hush box”
My guess is that previous owner of yours put a compressor in the driver compartment becuase that is where an easy connector to the converter air system, it was eaiser to put in a new compressor there that to fix the one in the generator box.
In the back right compartment by the engine, there is a schrader valve for the Prevost Air System. Maybe that’s why it is there.
Get your air system air-tight (or close to it) and you should be able to remove at least the compressor in the back.

Thanks for the info the one on the drivers side front is for the air lift on the bed and the pocket door, we don’t know what the other one does yet and I will change our profile right now.

I am on my 3rd Featherlite Vantare, and all of them have had only 1 aux compressor, which is located in the Gen Hush box. It’s in there so you don’t hear it running.
I would suspect if you have another, someone added it.

On my 2002 Vantare/Featherlite the only aux compressor is in the drivers run bay area. The hush box for the generator does not have a compressor.

can you help me out on my water tank filldelema I am hooked up to city water,lots of pressure and volume but takes forever to fill the tank at least an hour,when I switch on the water tank fill the pump starts, is that normal why do you need the pump running to fill, my buddy is next camp site and his Liberty fills in 20 minutes. Taking a closer look at plumbing tomorrow but any advice is appreciated,thanks for now.

A Vantare owner will have to provide specifics, but generally there likely is a number of potential line restrictions. You have to follow the plumbing from the fill water connection poiint to the tank to see where they are located and check each one.
I would guess at the very least you have a manual valve, a check valve and a solenoid valve. You may also have a device that regulates the pressure of the incoming water supply and limits that pressure to about 45 PSI. Its purpose is to allow you to use city water instead of water pumped from your tank while protecting the coach from extreme pressures. My first place to look would be that device, but I would not rule out the other components either.

Hi Dick and Jill, Congrats on you new coach. We bought our first coach last year, a 97 Featherlite Vantare. A man by the name if Jim Marsh of VIP Luxury Coach Consulting came highly recommended. He offers a wide range of services, one of which is a concierge service, a flat yearly fee and he is there basically 24/7 to answer questions, help you obtain roadside service, whatever you need. He even transports and delivers coaches. He delivered our coach to us in NJ from Florida and stayed an extra day to go over all the systems in the bus with us at our home.

On my vantare when I hit the water fill button the pump does not run. It takes appx 20-30 min to fill. I guess depending on pressure

For the water fill issue, try putting in new water filters, if they have not already been changed.

Try turning the pump off while your using the tank fill.

thanks for the advice everyone we will figure it out, I did take out the brass pressure control fitting and it didn’t make a difference we will follow things through as you suggested Jon but it puzzles me why the pump runs when I hit the tank fill
