Posted by Corey on July 27, 2014 at 7:00 pm

We have an appointment at Zip-Dee in Elk Grove Village,Il this Wed. To tune up and re-canopy our slide awning. Just wondering if any of you have been there and done that and what your experience was ?

I had my awnings replace two years ago. I spent the night before the appointment in the parking area beside their building. My experience was good. All work done in one day.

We also had a full set of awnings installed many years ago and as Hector said we stayed next to their building and they did the entire coach installation very quickly with no issues.

I also had a great experience there a couple of years ago… I see that no one mentioned that Zip Dee’s facility is on the flight path to O’Hare – plan on a plane passing over every minute…. take your ear plugs if you plan to try sleeping.

Corey I too have been to the Zip Dee Awning Mecca. My experience included dry camping out in the parking lot, having my slide awnings replaced with new (two times – the first time was wrong color – their error). And my Auto Awn checked out – it worked perfect for the Zip Dee guys. Next time I tried it was Amarillo Texas – did not retract – had to manually remove rafters and roll it up and wire tie it to travel.

as Orren stated I recall very vividly the high noise level of O’hare Airport – Big A planes.

    Good Luck!

Spent last night and part of today(they had us done by 1:30) at Zip-Dee. Everything good including the $ plus they must have changed the glide paths for O’hare. Saw 1000 planes only heard one and that was a low flying prop job.
