Zero house power!
Posted by Kent on June 14, 2024 at 10:09 pmHello, owner of A 1999 Featherlite H3-45 with zero house power. Had plugged into 110, all that was available with my watchdog surge protector for two week. Protector was reading good. Went inside and zero power, lights fridge, etc… pulled around and plugged to 50 amp, same results. Can’t start generator either. Coach starts fine. Have checked all the breakers that I know of on the coach. Any suggestions? Thanks

Brian from Tradewinds coach talked me through “Waking” up the inverters. Wasn’t easy but after four option we got them back. Will see if my batteries take a charge.???? Very grateful to those guys right now! Tons of knowledge and I learned a lot!

Lost both 12 and 24 volt banks. Found the issue. Can’t be plugged into 110 unless you shut one inverter off and set the other to the correct cord size in the menu or the second one will try to keep drawing and run all batteries down. Had to wake up inverters with a jumper. Everything is back now just hoping the batteries stay charged which I think they will. Learned a lot about my coach from Brian at Tradewinds! He stayed on the phone an hour with me talking me through it. Thanks for your input! Be safe out there.

Everything that inverts goes through the inverters called (Pass through) what ever inverts goes through contacts in inverter, So if you plug a electric heater into a plug that inverts it is extremely hard on the contactors in inverter, you should of had 120v power on microwave ac’s anything that did not pass through inverters. Did he have you reboot inverters? Remove AC and DC power from inverters then turn on DC power then AC power. When I did RV service I sent in quiet a few inverters and had them repaired, Most caused from electric heaters on anything with large AMP draws

I think I had happen to us what just happened to you. I had Jeff Rowe at East Tennessee Luxury Coach walk me through what to do.
Now you know!

Yes I think I got lucky! They basically had me jump my 24v batteries to wake my inverters? They woke back up! Had to reset them to normal settings. Still plugged into my fifty so hoping they are charged or charging when we unplug!??

The way Country Coach designed my bus, when i am running the generator or plugged in, my inverters are off.

The inverters are in charge mode to charge batteries, when there is AC power either shore or Gen, As for inverter side of inverters it can either be on stand by mode or off, stand by mode is when you loose AC power the inverter goes in to invert mode and supplies what ever is set up to get AC volts from inverter. Any way it is set Pass through should happen off or on.

Mine go to a float mode when plugged in and batteries are charged. I’m learning! Lol ?? it’s a lot different than our old Dutchstar for sure! The support out here is awesome and I appreciate you all!
