Wow.
I just looked up the weight of a ~20-ft pontoon boat and came up with 4,000 lb. That truck is probably in the 7k neighborhood. Putting even 3k lb on top of it that high probably doubles the center of gravity height of the unloaded pickup. The suspension of that truck obviously isn’t set up with the roll stiffness for that kind of CG height… and certainly not on the front axle.

The wheels/tires make me think it’s a 3/4 ton, maybe 1 tin. Maybe they put spring rubbers in when they’re hauling the pontoon to stiffen things up a little. I wonder if they are using a supplemental braking system on the truck or if they have a kid riding in the truck who applies the truck brakes when he sees the coach lights go on.

Theres a youtube video on this guy loading the boat on top of the truck. Its a different truck but the same coach. Searched “pontoon boat on top of truck” Im still incapable of uploading a link. 🙁

We know where in Utah on I-70 that photo is taken. If we see that arrangement we’re getting off the road . 4000lbs for the boat plus trailer on the same truck. Eeeeeeek!,
