  • Yet another air valve

Posted by Jim/Chris on October 7, 2019 at 10:45 am

Wow, what a search for our air leak. We checked under side of bus. Found our front ride height valve leaks, but still not major source. We checked norgren s, airbag conn3ctions, various locations where valves were obvious. No joy!

By accident, pulling wires for our new DTV dome mounted on bus front roof we heard a hiss. With cabinet over drivers left shoulder open, the guts of cabinet walls removed for wire pulling, there “they” were!!! Two Hadley air horn switch relays. One intact, one hissing like a deranged kitty. But being hidden away, in a cabinet behind cabinet interior walls, we didn’t know they were there, let alone hear them. Hunting around, Fleetpride could order an H00550C relay switch valve. But Amazon doing it one better, it’ll be here tomorrow. Who knew!??

One thing I’ve always enjoyed about you Jim is your use of technical terms like “One hissing like a deranged kitty”. Is that in the same category as “Howling like a neutered pup”? And I apologize in advance if you planned to say that next!

You and Chris have really taken on a project and I know I speak for us all when I say good luck and smooth sailing!

How did the sway bar stud issue work out?

Dave. After renting impact wrench, no use, and placing a BIG wrench on but being pushed with hydraulic bottle jack. The nut came off with the thread. Ordered parts, and a big truck l/bus alignment shop used heat, ball joint press, a hammer and got remainder of stud out and pressed new in. Added new dogbone, and boy the drive home was totally different
