Muddy water, rust, pieces of the hose steel wire, debris….all came out of Yanmar block. Mud and debris came out of Marathon installed radiator.
The radiator sits at an angle in the center of bus so I flushed the top to bottom several minutes till water ran clean and then the bottom to top till the water ran clean. When I flushed the radiator, I install a new in-line water filter on garden hose to take out and minerals during flush.
Getting the coolant completely back into system was challenging because of radiator angle. I filled engine block system with 50 / 50 mix through tank radiator and then disconnected the upper Marathon radiator hose at block and filled it with 50/50 coolant. Doing this put 2 gallons of coolant in system. Started generator and measured temps at thermostat housing for 3 minutes. Then, to eliminate air in system while I disconnected upper coolant line disconnected at block again …took garden hose and push coolant through Marathon radiator until it came out thermostat housing. Got really good temperature readings at top of Marathon radiator and bottom of Marathon radiator 20 degrees F apart. Generator is running about 5-8 degrees cooler not 157 Degrees F.
