XLii Windshields
Just back from a 4800 miles trip out west. Coach ran great until I got behind a dump truck on the last day home which rsulted in a chipped windshield which started to run soon thereafter. Prevost Nashville is quoting me $1400 plus tax for its replacement but that seems high to me. My deductible is pretty high so I am likely to just pay for this out ouf my pocket. Who’s got some thoughts on this? Thanks.

The windshield price is 3790 and the book rate on labor is 4.2 hours, Mira Loma has a guy who can change one out in about 40 minutes but they want to charge the book rate.,
My bill was 9000 and I am going to bitch about the labor rate.

When that happened to my windshield I did call my insurance co. alot of states have zero deductable on windshields.. renew policy came out 3 months later and my policy stayed the same price

My insurance company told me glass breakage does not count as a loss and has no effect on premium renewal.

I had both of mine changed at Jeff’s when we got back from the 15 month trip. I have 0 deductible glass with my policy from miller. I don’t recall the exact final bill but no way it should take 4 hours. I think jeff’s glass guys did both in under an hour. jeff prepped the glass by putting the blackout on the top the day before…

I had a truck pick up a rock and put a big chip in my passenger side windsheild. A windsheild repair guy here in town fixed it for $1250. He said the repair was a strong as the glass its self. I have to look very hard to find it..
