XLII Wheel Seal
A wheel seal for the steer or tag is pretty easy for XLII’s. The caliper stays in place, you remove 10 bolts, the oil cap and spindle nut and off it comes. Another thing learned, the red fill plug is now not removable, you have to fill through the allen bolt hole. The job should take no more than about 1 1/2 hours.
Of course Jon had already told me all of this, but CRS set in and I didn’t remember.

Hey Tom Ed shea wants to know if there are sealed bearings that will fit into his existing hubs. He tells me that the new ones all come like that. Do you have any idea if that is feasible ? He says to say hi to Nancy and his cah is running just fine. also he is learning not to call a door a doo-ah.

On my x2 I do not have oil hubs they grease pack I like it better. Like old truck days

don’t know what year they changed to sealed, Jon may jump in here,
but I think it was around 04. Not sure what you have to do to change
over from wet to sealed or if it’s even feasible. Tell Ed he should
have been to Naples last weekend for the caw show, unbelievable…. -
Will do Tom, oh by the way ,Eds coach is back and I looked at the antenna setup. no pics yet but its a sole’. He says the picture is great. The damn thing is only about 8 inches off the roof. They took off the old base and riveted in a metal patch . I dont know if the brackets are provided or if they made them but it sure looks like a professional job. The website is sole’.com according to the printing on the antenna.I will get some pics of it this week
