As a seller if I thought your offer reflected worst case scenario, and like the seller I thought the problem was much less or non-existent I would strike a deal with you subject to the estimated repair costing $xxx.

You will use $300 to $400 worth of fuel and compared to the potential difference in cost between a simple repair and a full blown panel replacement that is chump change. I guess he is not a serious seller or he intends to find a buyer not aware of delamination.

The latter probably is the case. They’re hoping for the “ oooh, look, pretty, I buy” kinda buyer. With very little effort at some seams, the whole panel edge”boinged” in and out, especially pulling slightly out. The belt line was literally falling off. So, when our offer was rejected, we’ve moved on. Chris pointed out that we need not avoid “H”’s with roof air and girards since our new building has 16 ft doors. Hmm.

Can anyone add as to what is the newest XL year model that is known to have had the delam problem?

I believe it is. We tapped around a2016 X-3 two years ago and found loose seams.
