XL40 height?
Hello all… my wife and I have been looking for an XL40 but we just discovered that the city’s regulations state no recreational vehicle in excess of 12 feet tall can be parked on private property except in an enclosed garage. Which we don’t have, but that’s a whole ‘nother discussion. Can anyone tell me what the height is (not clearance height, just height to the roof line) for an XL40?

It is less than 12 feet, and might be just slightly over 11 feet, but if you have A/Cs or a satellite dish you may be over 12 feet.

My 99 40′ Countrry Coach is 12′ 4″ to the top of the satellite dish.
Sorry, did not catch your remark about what the height is to the roof line.
I can almost assure you they will be talking overall height, so check with them on that item.

What do they do, come by your home with a tape measure? Good grief, talk about crazy regulations, what possible concern could one foot in height over 12′ cause. What state is this?
You’re good with the Liberty height, I had a 94 XL 40′ and you’ll be under 12′ at roof line.

My 1991 XL has a plate on the drivers dash tthat says 11′ 7″ ride height add 14″ for winguard satellite and I’m about 12′ 9″ have 14′ doors on my bus barn and clear with room to spare.

If the regulation only applies to parked RVs, let the air out of the suspension when you park.

Not sure what the reasoning is behind the height restriction, but arguing with Code Enforcement is not one of my favorite things. In any event, thanks to all for the info. We picked up our new-to-us XL40 last Thursday and now getting things on board and organized, and undertaking some minor maintenance chores.

Congrats on your puchase…love those HOA’s…we have to keep our toad in the garage cuz it’s a pick up trk.

My heart goes out to owners and prospective owners who have to deal with HOA and code restrictions. When we were looking for a house when we were moving to TN nothing ruled out potential homes as much as HOAs. It seemed like every McMansion had rules so petty they even defined the color of bricks, and parking the bus at the house was out of the question.

If you are going to have HOA restrictions, why not live in a community that has restrictions that FAVOR owning RVs?
