Has anyone found an easy way to access the driver’s side Prevost installed dash heat blower compartment on a XL? When I run the air conditioner condesation builds up in this compartment (I think), so the drain may be clogged. I’ve been in the one on the passenger side and it’s fine. As I understand this compartment it is blocked by the converters when they install the floor slide and build up that area of the floor to level it with the rest of the floor.

Can you lift the top of the dash? I have no idea how CC did it, but there should be a way to access it for service.

I almost hate to mention this but one “mechanic” has advocated drilling the pop rivets and removing the sheet metal on the front of the coach to access stuff in that area. That seems a little extreme. Before I did that I would find the drain and try to work a wire or something up there from the bottom to open the drain.

Thanks Jon. I’m thinking that raising the floor would be a major PITA. The granite flooring would likely have to be cut at where ever the floor extension was installed.

I think I’ll pull up the Prevost illustrated parts catalog in hopes it helps me find a way in or a way to get to the drain. I can only see one drain hose, so I’m wondering if the 2 fan boxes drain top to bottom and then out.

I have a similar issue with mine although the condensation
is dripping in the passenger side of the spare tire well. It is a very small
amount but it would be nice to stop it.

I can only find one drain tube and it seems to
drain normally. I assume the dripping is just the condensate catch pan
sweating. We do run our dash air in the mid to high 60s so that may exacerbate the problem.

only one hose… I have mine still open there— the fan motor actuall sets about 2 inches above bottom of pan so there should be no water where blower wheel is. i will confirm that in the morning when I go back up to shop and post if differant. Also will check for 2nd hose but that would be news to me. The system actually sucks air down thru ac /heat evaporator toward floor into blower squirrl cage then up to outlets. FWIW Bob

Use a wet/dry Shop Vac to suck the drain hose clear. You will need a reducer for the Shop Vac to get down to the size of the drain hose. Home Depot or Sears usually has the reducer that will get you close. Several wraps of tape will make up any difference.
