It was fun while it lasted but things have gone done hill since the sale of this board. The posts are mostly by 1 person these days who happens to be doing a lot of work on his coach. Otherwise, no new articles, no real help being asked for or given and now this new, ridiculous format for the Forum. I will be checking in as usual but I will have to see if it becomes more trouble than it’s worth.

I think yuou are all missing the reality of aging population that are leaving RVing. Just the other day a guy who purchased Tom’s (the Battery guy) bus put it up for sale after 6 years and going to a different life syyle.

A friend of mine just 4 houses away sold his RV and said he will rent when he goes on vacation.

There are several Face book forumns and they are only visited by a selecct number of members even though it shows 7.2K registered members.

The census on several forumns is that the younger population wants a small trailer as evident by sales of RVs and they do short trips and not into long term travel.

FMCA has lost half of it’s membership in the laast couple of years.

So it is time to adapt and enjoy what there is instead of critizing what is available.

My point is many people have countless hours invested in posting valuable information that can’t be found anywhere else on any Forum or Fakebook site. This word salad called a Forum completely shirks that work.

You being a new owner doesn’t know the difference.

It’s a sign of the times folks, us ole timers are being dragged kicking and screaming into the cyber world and we don’t like it. The Prevost buyer has changed, more new owners are not DIY guys and the desire for the latest in technology, bells and whistles are a must have. Many of you like me remember the good ole days of pre def and coaches without all the performance killing government crap.

Gone are the days of Bernie calling me raising hell about a post or poster not knowing what the F&%@* they are talking about and in most cases he was right, but my response would be go F*#^! yourself and then we would laugh our asses off.

Gone are the days of being at one of our PC Rallies parked beside Jon and a new PC member stopped by to meet Jon. He had just gone in his coach to help Di with something and I told the new guy he shit his pants and would be back out soon. Then when he came back out and met the new guy, I had left and forgot to tell him otherwise. To this day the guy thinks Jon shit his pants unless he see’s this.

Fakebook has killed this forum as well as the POG forum and the newer Prevost owners couldn’t care less about the forum concept anymore. They can get their questions or problems answered in minutes on their mobile device without having to sign in to a forum.

I knew the old days would never be back once Jon bought a smart phone and told me not to text him because the phone would likely be off. He didn’t know what the hell an app was, but thought he might need one. One day soon the Corvette will be gone and replaced with a Tesla.

Damn I miss the old days. Hang in there Bernie you grouchy ole bastard.

It truey has changed, just the other day thre was a post asking what is this thing I found in my bus. It was a Gast air compressor, this illustrates how educated the newer buyers are.

With all due respect after 8 months of development by one of the top web design companies in the country, WTF is how you choose to address them and us?

My first thought is to delete you and this post. However, we have always said we are here for the community, good or bad. So with the understanding that the old website, including the forums (that we have used ourselves for over 10 years) were so antiquated that the continued use was virtually becoming impossible. Also, let it be known that the 100’s of hours that it manually took to migrate these forums to a format that will be visible, into hopefully our lifetimes, cost us 10’s of thousands of dollars alone.

So here is the opportunity Bernie, for you to be constructive. Don’t tell us why you still prefer a carbureted motor over fuel injection or why the new site doesn’t look right on a Commodore 64. Let us know what a perfect forum world look like to you in the 21st century.

At this time Jessica would like to thank everyone that has sent us constructive thoughts and ideas. Every one of them has been addressed personally and several have been or will be instituted over time.

If anyone further starts a forum thread with What The F@ck, in the future, it will be deleted out of common respect and decency.

Good morning Bernie – I just want to make sure you aren’t confusing the “News Feed” with the Forum. Each time a new coach is listed for sale, it will post in the classified section as expected, but it will also show in the News Feed. Personally I like the News Feed and I typically start my day by looking there to see what has happened since I was last on. I get it that is may not be everyones cup of tea, but it works for me.

Now that I think of it, the Forum could be compared to a newspaper. You get up, get some coffee and flip to the section that interests you the most at the time (sports, weather, finances or even the comics if those still exist these days). Where the News Feed is sort of like watching the news on TV, you see what is presented during the time you tune in and get a run down on all of the events that day. Two different types of media and nothing “wrong” with either of them. Just user preference.

I vote to remove this post and let’s move on to ways the site can help people going forward. We need more engagement here, not a site where folks are afraid to ask something for the fear they will be made to feel bad for asking. I would like to see more ways we can drive folks to this site and continue to ask questions and build the database. The Web is not dead, it is more alive than ever, let’s build a community again.

I am on the fence and that still may happen. On one side, I believe to some it gives us a type of control that somehow seems unfair. I get that. On the other we are not here to make everything seem like butterflies and roses. We knew we would have some criticism and actually look forward to working through the short comings to make PC the best site in the Prevost landscape. No one, on our side is angry over the final product. Most of the feedback that we get has been very positive. A lot of time was spent on our end finding a product and a developer that fit best with our vision. Trust me some forum platforms have a much further departure from where we started than this one.

As stated earlier by Bernie, Prevost Community is truly a community that is a reflection of everyone that joins us and most importantly those that participate. We are well aware of this fact. Our responsibility is to create the best landscape we can, to allow the sharing of information to be possible. I know we are working in that direction and we are proud of what has been created. With the continued support and suggestions I assure you that we will work toward our goal everyday.

Bernie is a grumpy old man and he has always said exactly what was on his mind. But he has also shared valuable information based on his long term experience and to me that makes him a valuable member.

Bitching is good. I suppose we all want to candy coat the complaints, but who cares how they are delivered? He did not abuse the site by talking politics or any of the other forbidden topics. He expressed an opinion and if that leads to some improvements that is good. If nothing changes despite the criticism the ball is in Bernie’s court. He is not hurting the site with his post, and if I remember we (Tom and I) sometimes were on the receiving end of his posts.

Hello Jon,

As you know I have always greatly appreciated what you and Tom created. Hell, I bought my first Prevost 12 years ago in part to the knowledge gained on these very forums.

I hang out with a considerable amount of grumpy old men, but then again most of them do not approach me with the f word. I guess the internet has taken out a lot of the human interaction when it comes to business.

As always Jon, I greatly appreciate the wisdom and contribution.

WTF is a totally accurate thing to say as far as I am concerned….I had and still have that reaction each time I log in. The old site may have been old and not supported as such, but it was sure as hell a lot better to read and navigate then this cluster has turned out to be so far. If the amount talked about is truly what was spent to “improve” the site, they got hosed big time. I don’t care if people like it or not. When you are right, you are right….and Bernie is right…WTF rules. I am sure the snowflakes will be raving about how great things are now, but I sure as hell don’t see it. And I am not the only one.
