Technology upgrade in progress at ETLC. Look closely for the black shoes and legs sticking out from where a bottom kitchen drawer was removed.

When we bought the bus, Dave Wall made sure we had good tires and batteries. Basically everything worked and normal service was up to date. The guys at Stuart put in a lot of effort to be sure I got a great bus, even to the extent of putting in new inverters, satellite receivers, Crestron programming, etc. It could not have been a better experience.
Once it was confirmed that we got a really good bus, we decided to make our 2006 Country Coach a 2018 version…
Air bags, brake chambers were replaced by ETLC. New shocks, suspension components, and three axle alignment had already been done previously. TVs and fridge were new, so that was not an additional expense.
We are doing things like new generator belt, transmission service, coolant change, air dryer, and differential service.
On the house side we are rewiring for HDMI, new backup camera, Vorad, TPMS, iPad Crestron upgrade with voice activation.
The center aisle walk-in wardrobe is being completely remodeled to accommodate our dog fetish, bedroom carpet replaced with planking, pilot and co-pilot chairs reupholstered, along with the sofa and dinette. Also a new Lafer euro style chair with integrated foot rest. The cook top is being replaced with an induction cook top.
Some of the minor things include patio side awning LED lighting, adding a 50 amp buddy plug, and SaniCon Turbo system. We have also changed out some of the power receptacles for ones that have USB power chargers included.
I’m sure I have forgotten some things… but basically an 2018 Country Coach Prevost.

Les, you guys are doing what is an extremely good way to have a “new” totally reliable up to date coach tailored to your needs. By the time you are done your coach, with its proven reliability will not have cost anywhere near what a new coach could have cost and it will provide just as much satisfaction and enjoyment.
Good job. How about bringing it to Petoskey. We all would love to see it.

Jon, while the work is progressing at a good clip, it will not be ready for the rally.
We are checking on progress every Thursday at ETLC and are on schedule. It’s just a lot to do.
Y’all have fun up North. I’ll see you for sure at the October maintenance session. We have a good 22 day tour in September so I should have a bunch of question for everyone by then.

I did forget one biggie. Since the Headhunter water pump is 12 years old, we replaced it and kept the original one as a spare..
Maybe overkill but don’t want to have an issue while on the road. A friend of ours had their 14 year old pump bite the dust. Don’t want to deal with that. They are not easy to change on a Country Coach!

I know this is a little drift, but as long as you are going to the extent you are to make the coach into your ideal, and since the water pump is not immediately accessible consider strongly adding a back up water pump.
My Headhunter could not be more accessible than it is, but despite that when I am on a trip I am not going to replace it if it should fail. We are traveling for pleasure and I do not intend to spend any of that time replacing a pump.
Because we have a Headhunter toilet that needs a lot of water flow at a high pressure for a short duration I included an expansion tank dedicated to the toilet for that purpose to work with the small Shurflo back up pump.
