Wire Run to Back of Bus??
Hello Everyone,
I am new here and this is my first post, so please bare with me. I am purchasing a 1999 Prevost H3-45 12 Bunk Sleeper shortly, and I’m going to be adding a few new items right at purchase.
One itam I am addingis a video camera at the front of the driver’s cab facing the road. The video cable will terminate in the rear lodge and hook up to the rear lounge’s TV.
My question is…Is there an easy way to run the cabling (1 thin RCA cable) to the back lounge?? For example a pathway under the bus or through a sidewall??
Any help would be greatly apperciated. I really want to hide this cable so it’s not on the floor or through the sleeping cabin area. 🙂

Captain V……..If you can drop the front bumper of the coach, and poke your head in that area, looking up at the top of the bulkhead that is located just ahead of the steer tires you will see around 4 gray plastic tubes that have wires and air lines going into them.
Go the rear of the coach, and if you can look at the top of the bulkhead in front of the drive axle. You should see the other end of those tubes. They will be somewhere around 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter. With an electricians fish tape you should be able to pull the wire you want to go front to rear.
But every converter also has areas they run a lot of their wiring front to rear, usually under a cover they put over the front to rear ductwork for the OTR (over the road heat and air system). I have no opinion about which would be the easiest way to get a wire front to back, but if you look at the coach the easiest way will be apparent.
Don’t laugh, and I am not suggesting this, but I have seen a coach in which the owner ran a line by drilling up through the roof, running the wire front to rear held in place with clamps and then drilled back down through into the rear. Not very elegant, but it was quick and easy and unless someone had a view from above it was invisible.
Good luck with that. I think I would rather eat bees than try to get a new wire front to rear because no matter how you do it it will involve some effort.

Great info guys…I have considered going wireless for sure…I am concerned with finding one that plugs into a TV monitor though and not an IP camera. If I can find one that can do at least 30 frames a sec I would go wireless in a heartbeat.
It seems most of them only do 12 frames per sec and that would be too choppy for the application i want to use it for. I don’t want to barf when watching it on the screen in the back lounge…
If anyone has any suggestions I am open to hear them. 🙂
