Hey how you guys and gals doing? I was hoping one of you would be able to help me out I need someone to please tell me what the front windshields measure on a newer model h3-45 I refer to the one piece windshield.

The 2000 model h3 has 4 windshields upfront (2 up top, 2 at bottom)
the newer models have 2 single windows upfront one on left and on on right I am needing the measurement of them.

Look at the MagnaShade web site. They provide shade covers for Prevost windshields and have measurements listed to confirm the size that needs to be ordered.

Am I missing something? Wouldn’t measuring one with a tape measure answer the question? They are not square or flat so any published dimensions would need to be qualified as to how and where the measurements were taken.

Thanks for the input I’m going to check them out, reason why I’m needing the measurement is because I have a 2001 H and I’m looking to do the newer front glass conversion with the front lower cap and bumper. So I am just trying to get some info before hand so I can have an idea of what I’m getting into as far as modifications to the front upper cap if any. As of now it seems the windows drop right into my current cap as long as I remover the fiberglass cross bar that is presently there.

We are trying to help you, sir but, without some basic info were just doing guess work with your question.
Between 3 posters above (AL, Jon, Tom) we have owned 13 Prevost buses.
Please enter basic info on the bus you own and considering a major body change.
We’re glad to help ….. remember if we don’t know the answer we usually make things up to bluff our way though. smile
Many body changes have been done over the years by PC members. I’am amazed at the talent we read about on this site.

Be careful on doing that. I have the same H and have been talked out of doing that by some very knowledgeable people. You may not be happy with the results of doing it the cheap way (i.e. rattles, squeaks and leaks) although minor, can be a real irritant in a motor home. The correct way (also replacing the top cap) is very expensive. I would certainly talk to Donnie Meyer or Walter DeAndrea before doing this. Geo.

George has offered some very sound advice. I’ll go a little further. Do not do it.
But if you have made up your mind either have a qualified company do it, and I would strongly support only the two previously named, or Xtreme (James Stallings) in TX.
If you want to do it yourself make certain you understand the structural integrity of your current front structure must be maintained and if not done correctly it is going to be a nightmare.
BTW, If I was a potential buyer and was interested in an H if the front cap had been replaced with the new version, and it was not done by the 3 above named companies I would walk away from the purchase, and before buying if it was done by any of the three I would have to really give some serious thought to it.

Talk to Donnie Myers as George suggested, he just recently cautioned against doing it unless it was done a certain way and it won’t be cheap.

thanks for all the great info guys I really appreciate it, I have worked on boats my entire life my last employer was cigarette Racing where I did all the haul work and custom paint jobs for all the 40+ foot race boats 100k paint jobs. I have read a lot of info on this topic and I’m pretty sure Its something I’m capable of doing, from what I have read and seen the new top cap is identical to the one on my bus mines esthetics. I’m not to worried about resale value. Definitely don’t want any leaks or rattles. But from what I have gathered the newer windshields are the same size as my two piece windshield put together. At least at a rough measurement.

This isn’t about leaks or rattles. It is about structural integrity and when the modification hasn’t included the strength engineered into the current shell configuration the problems have gone beyond leaks to cracking windshields.

There is a difference in the top cap and it is quite pricey. Both Donnie and Walter have said they’ll do it on a bus, but not a motorhome. I would suggest you talk to either one first. Geo.

Definitely will give them a holler, I definitely believe that reinforcement of the current cap would be a necessity.
