Windshield night visors won’t go up or down
Our windshield night visors (blinds) will not go up or down. Yesterday as the sun was shining directly from the driver’s side, both of us at the same time lowered the same visor. Now none of the visors will go up or down. We have a 2002 Liberty Elegant Lady. Any suggestions as to where to find a fuse or breaker to check?

This is a wild guess, but they might be on the forward outlets circuit. Do you have power to the forward outlets? If not look for a GFCI outlet that might have tripped. It is on the underside of the cabinets over the sink or cooktop.

The fuse for the night shades is located in the second bay , electrical bay ,on drivers side.
If my memory serves me correct it is a 15 Amp blade fuse, at location #36 . The fuse is on the left side of the bay behind the big plexiglass cover. There must be about 100 fuses it seems on that panel. Wires have the number on them to identify the fuse number. Check your Liberty books and look for 12 volt fuse numbers.
i have a 2001 Liberty and cannot be sure your fuse number is the same, but you know where to look.Liberty gives you extra fuses but they are in the drivers door panel you open with the key.
You tripped the fuse by having 2 people hitting the switches at the same time. I know this as my wife and I did the same thing!!

If it is indeed a 12V fuse, you may want to consider replaciing it with an auto resetting fuse, available at most all auto parts stores.
Should you both try to move the sun screen again at the same time, the fuse will protect the circuit but after a short time it will reset itself and you will be back in business.

That is a great idea to use resettable fuse. As I am sure we will blow this fuse again

Another example of what a great resource this forum is. Our shades quit working yesterday on the way into Santa Fe. I suspected something to do with our both pressing buttons at at same time. These posts verified it.
In our 2001 Liberty Classic, the relevant fuse was on circuit with #4 on the wire, not sure if that is what the fuse “location” is. Is there a wiring diagram or fuse chart for the Liberty panel like the one up front inside the access door for the Prevost systems fuses and breakers?
By the way, Trailer Ranch is a nicely located little park very near downtown Santa Fe.

Strange. I wonder how it’s wired that two switches closing at the same time overloads the circuit. You’d think the switches would be in parallel and that the current wouldn’t change between one or both being closed.

I learned real quik that Liberty is secretive about their electrical systems. I’ve NEVER been able to get a schematic out of them. In the back of your Liberty Owners Manual there should be a lot of info on what circuit gets what amperage fuse etc.
I’ve installed “glow when they blow” fuses. -
Don: Looking at your picture, it looks like many of your fuses have blown. Is that the case?

If I am seeing correctly, only 3 are blown (lit). I have never heard of this kind of fuse but I absolutely have to get some of these. They look to be completely awesome!
