window leak 2000 XL
40 days and 40 nights here in North Texas( seems like)
just discovered a leak coming from top( behind the window shade)
of driver slide window. Searched a couple threads and saw ref. to the
level affecting heavy rain and the gutter( drip rail?) had heavy rains for last several weeks but the leak appears to be “new”
Pouring right now so I raised the driver corner of the buss. seems to have helped.
What can I look for tomorrow ( when rain stops-hopefully)

If your coach is similar to ours, you should be able to remove the small cover plate/trim piece that terminates the driver side overhead cabinet. That would give you access to the space above the blind. We had a leak from one of the clearance lights that dripped through that space and then down behind the blind.

Roof leaks are hard to isolate because depending on how level the coach sits, a leak that originates on a penetration can travel down a roof rib sometimes, and take another path some other time depending on variations from level.
The easiest solution is to reseal all penetrations such as antennas and vents as well as seams between the caps and roof skin.

Just had same problem. Clearance lights on front cap. Remove and replace rubber gasket seal. Gasket- seal gets hard with age. Quick fix, use caulking.

Thanks, I was under the impression the window was prone to leak.
had not thought of the light, thread I saw talked about the “gutter/drip edge”

The last place I look for leaks is the window gasket / molding. Over the years they have been very reliable. But roof penetration and clearance lights have been issues.

Used an inexpensive pencil type smoke machine to find mine. These are used to find home window leaks. Obviously takes two people to do, but works.

If the coach has OTR, remove or open the baffle to bring outside air into the coach, start the engine, put it on high idle and turn on the OTR.
It will build enough pressure in the coach to make closing the door difficult. Then you can spray around the windows, roof penetrations, etc with soapy water and you will get a lot of bubbles at the leak.
If you don’t have OTR, sorry about that.

Had leak just behind front windshield on passenger side. Dan @ ETLC resealed all the front clearance lights with silicone. I suspect after 18 or 19 years the gaskets we’re getting brittle and leaking.

You may want to pull the small band above the windshield off. It covers the screws that hold the bottom part of the top cap on. There are screws with rubber grommets and can let water in. I had the same problem with leaks, but after removing the screws and putting a dab of silicone in the holes and reinstalling the screws, the leaks stopped.
