Metal pup tent. That’s funny! In the bus conversion world, we use the term ‘steel tenting’ to refer to the act of using your bus while you are still doing the conversion. Some people spend 8-10 years converting their own bus. It would be really easy to lose interest if you didn’t take the bus out every now and then and enjoy it. It’s not uncommon to see a bus roll up with a mattress in the floor, a porta-potty, and sheets hung for privacy. But these folks build buses that will rival the pros. I’ve been amazed at some of the conversions I have seen. Sadly, I don’t have the talent so had to buy already converted.
