Can you use the level low manual controls to lift the front and then the left and right rear? If so, the “Drive” solenoid on the 5 stack level controls needs replacing. I believe it’s the 3rd from the top and should be the same voltage as all (or nearly all) the others. This means you can swap out the drive solenoid for one of the others that’s working to get that operation working again. This will get you down the road safely until you can get a replacement. It will only limit the manual capabilities of the level low system but that should not be a big deal for a short time.

Can’t get it to move using the level low controller. Its like the controller is not connected to any solenoid.

JON is expert here! He has same set up. On my 98 with level low the valve that releases air into suspension went bad and would not let air into secondary air system . my dash gauge for secondary air system never rose. fwiw. proportion valve I think was name.

Greg, the suspension is controlled via the 5 solenoid valve manifold in the steer bay.

The center solenoid valve typically has a solenoid failure because that solenoid is energized whenever the bus is being driven. Switch the solenoid with any of the other 4 to restore working order to the road or driving height. That solenoid valve causes control air pressure to route air bag air through the ride height valves. The other 4 solenoids typically control the Norgren valves to allow leveling when parked.

Jon, im thinking its the selector switch, its very hard to move from one location to another. We finally got it to move and could heata solenoid working sometimes. Got enough in the front to get the coach to move. I’ve ordered a néw switch but didn’t get the instructions

Hi Mike. I have a 1990 Prevost with level low problems. I too ordered a new selector switch. Its wiring is different from my old one. It didn’t come with any instructions either. Did you ever find out how to wire the new switch in.

One issue we all face is our conversions may or may not have Prevost systems modified.

Some conversions have the Prevost Level Low system unmodified. Some have an added system that adds auto-level, and some are highly modified to do away with the Prevost controls and use converter controls.

My point is my knowledge is limited greatly depending on the conversion and how or if it was modified.

If your converter did not modify the Level Low system, when you get the new control (assuming that is the issue when you replace the existing one just do the change one wire at a time. There are a lot of wires so be sure you do a correct transfer of wires.

Jim, a lot of the posts when moved to this new format got the users names attached incorrectly. I am not sure who had this issue but i would be glad to help you troubleshoot the issue if it still exists. We have similar vintage buses.

Hi. I actually bought my 1990 Prevost 10 years ago to take my wife on a cruise around the country. Right after I bought it she got cancer and passed away. It has been sitting in my yard ever since. Recently I decided to play with it. I can’t get it to raise and lower. I replaced the 4 valves with the red tips. Made no difference. Then I replaced the up/down switch on the level/low. No difference. Then I ordered the rotary switch on the level low. I got it but it wires up completely differently. I have no idea what color wire hooks up which terminal on the new switch. My auxiliary compressor barely makes 50 lbs of pressure. HELP i know absolutely nothing about busses or the whole air suspension system. I’ve been reading posts and trying what they suggest. A good note is I actually got the bus running again after all these years. I’ve learned a lot. Thanks everyone
