If you have Verizon as your wireless carrier:

Buy one of these on Ebay for about $50 – Verizon does not sell them anymore but they will give you a sim card for it and add it to your plan. They may even be able to just activate the sim card that comes in it if you open the battery compartment and give them the EMEI number.

Novatel T1114V Tasman VERIZON 4G LTE Broadband Router + Voice internet data on Ebay for about $50.

Activate it on your Verizon Wireless plan for $20 per month. It gives you WIFI in your bus 15gb wireless hotspot data per month. I also gives you a phone line to which you can hook up an old traditional land line phone.

As a bonus, if you get this Verizon device the “old fashioned” phone line RJ11 jack can be used when your bus is stored to connect to a door open and/or motion alarm system (not included) that will dial your cell phone and alert you of break in at your storage facility.

If you do not have Verizon, other carriers have mobile hotspots that will work for the WIFI portions of the above described capabilities – ATT has one for $80 per month with true unlimited, unthrottled data at “guaranteed” 8 gbps – though mine often runs at 15 gbps or more. The $80 is a bit steep unless you have need for large amount of data to run a business or whatever. I got mine from employer to work from home during COVID situation.

Buy one of these – Wyze Cam 1080p HD Indoor Wireless Smart Home Camera with Night Vision, 2-Way Audio, Works with Alexa & the Google Assistant, One Pack, White – WYZEC2 on Amazon. Connect it to the WIFI from the Verizon (or other) router and you have real time monitoring video of the inside of your coach.

Put a digital thermometer near the camera and you can see the temp in the coach. Or put it near your main panel and you can monitor battery charge, input voltage/amps, etc, etc. Put your digital thermometer near the panel and you can see it too. Aim the camera right and you can watch most of the rest of one direction in the coach, including the entry door area. Can set alarms for motion. You can also hook up multiple Wyze or other cams to the WIFI and monitor anything in or around the coach.

Or you could buy a Canary that gives the video monitoring, motion alarm capability, and has temp, humidity and air quality monitoring.

Note these are not all theoretical propositions, I have done all of the above, and it works.

do you have internet connectivity on the coach ? Are you looking for a wifi thermometer (as in you have wifi) or are you looking for a thermometer that has SIM card capability and will automatically connect to say Verizon and send out alerts ? Two completely different items .. .

For instance sensor push is a product that you can have thermometers and they talk over bluetooth to their gateway. the gateway can send alerts over the internet – but it must have internet connectivity to work. Whether thats a router on your bus that you connect to a local wifi spot, or you connect to a cellular modem (like a cradlepoint)

Another option. The Blink WIFI cameras from Amazon will show you the temp. In addition, they will alarm if there is movement. Simple installation, no wiring. I have used them on our boat for over a year.

I use BluStream, Have a sensor in my wetbay, kitchen and bath for about $50 bucks a piece. As long as you have WiFi and a cell phone you can monitor your temps anytime. They also have a nice App to show history, dates etc.
