Miller is no longer an advertiser on PC, they evidently didn’t see the value of being in front of 4500 members as well as the public exposure to our site that can view advertisers without being a member. I know we as a group sent them a lot of business over the years.

I spent some time clerking for an attorney that specialized in going after insurance companies. Learned a lot from him. Not sure he is practicing any longer but I will be glad tp provide his name if anyone is interested. He was practicing in Newport, KY.

Glen, the reason premiums are all over the place can be attributed to various state laws, your zip code, your age, your driving record, your financial history, your accident or claims history (which includes more than just motor vehicles), your class of driver license, and whether part of your premium is paying an agent’s commission or not.

If you add other factors such as what year the insurance company decides your coach is, or if it meets their criteria for acceptance and there is no apparent way to explain premium differences.

As an example, some converters list the model year as much as 4 years newer than the Prevost VIN shows. If a converter had inventory of new coaches not sold and they sat in inventory, the eventual purchaser got a title reflecting the year it went into service, but the chassis was still several years old.

Some states or insurance companies will use the Prevost VIN which has the manufacturing model year embedded in it. Others will accept the model year on the title.

    It is a mess.

    Jon

Thanks for your get back, I appreciate your incite and knowledge.Notice that I did end my post with the words “I am happy” Just like you and many others I have dealt with insurance companies on a very much larger scale than just the value of a Prevost.

I had a person that a big part and time of her job was being sure that we covered all the bases and tried to find the insurance companies escape routes. the big print giveth, small print taketh away. and don’t believe any thing unless at least two people see it in black and white

I only changed to Miller and went to agreed value about three years ago. went thru the appraisal process with AAS out of Ca. I felt the appraisal was very fair, in fact came in above my estimate. First yr premium was about $5000 more than an ACV policy and premiums have increased about that amount every year since. As you said many factors affect premiums, one for me is age, 80 YO. but it’s comforting to know than in a total wipe out they write me a check for $150,0000.

Again, I appreciate your wit and wisdom

PS. If you want to discuss the quality and abilities of Prevost,s repair techs I can get on my soap box quick
