White Button on Door Latch??
1998 XL
On the chrome door latch/handle is a white button. there is a two wire electrical connection off the back that disappears into the door frame.
What is is for?

On our bus it is the door bell. If yours does not chime when pushed, the wires got pinched at the door hinge.

hmm, still a mystery. I have a separate intercom and separate switches for the cargo lights.
I’ll try to trace the wiring into the dash area and see where they terminate.
I have the interior door panel off anyway (separate issue with the dead bolt lock)
keylock will not operate the bolt – keyless/numberpad lock/unlock works fine. Local locksmith says he should be able to fix it but cannot remove the lock cylinder. I called Prevost and got the drawing but does not have enough detail.
Anyone on the forum removed the lock cylinder from late 90’s XL ?? What is the secret to remove the lock cylinder?
