Thank you for everyone that has commented in this thread. We greatly appreciate the support. It is not an easy task to keep 5,000 plus members all happy. We have been looking at a major update for a few years now. The issue is that the old platform was pretty much maxed out and that the people who use this platform are becoming almost non-existent. So no big deal, just use a more modern platform and keep moving forward. Besides the high 5 figure cost (yes it will be just under $100,000 when complete), other things to consider are overall design, functionality AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE MIGRATION OF OVER A DECADE WORTH OF INFORMATION. I was amazed at what a major undertaking this has become.
With that being said we are very excited about this much needed progression. Prevost Community 3 will look familiar, navigate much the same, contain the same forum information, but we promise will be less “clunky”. Major goals for us were to make the classified section, both for the sale of coaches and parts much more user friendly. This is something that has bothered me since we started working with this site. It was not a product of being overlooked. It was simply a limitation of the platform. That will be corrected. We are also very excited to be working on and introducing an entirely new social aspect to the site. Think of it as a private FaceBook, just for the members of Prevost Community. Funny that circles back to many of the previous comments in this thread:)
Please be patient. We are using a very well respected company for every aspect of this new venture. We are confident that the transition will be as seamless as possible. If you have any issues during the roll out please use “constructive” criticism and you have our word that we will resolve it as quickly as possible. God knows we have paid for it and technology will no longer be an excuse.

Bill, are there any plans to open up a preliminary version for some of the super users for feedback? This might be helpful to work out the bugs.

As it turns out the website/forum I posted/asked about is taking old forum content from here and putting it in their forum.
That’s bs.
You can’t have a website and forum without content, but stealing it isn’t cool.

How were they stealing content from this site? Were they copying posts and pasting them to their site?

Stealing content should be a hanging offense. However there are nuances to that situation.
If another forum has a hot topic and a post on PC can clarify an issue or add information I would be in favor of allowing that. I am not talking about stealing an entire thread or long posts unless any copied content is specifically credited as being the property of the person who posted or Prevost Community.
I would make it clear copying content without giving full credit to PC will result in a law suit, and I would not hesitate to make a few examples of such misdeeds to make certain the message gets through.
Anytime content credited to PC is posted on another site it likely will draw new members to PC.
Theoretically since PC is a closed site, content finding its way to other sites starts with a member copying it and passing it on or doing the posting himself.

Jon, as stated, we are on it. It’s just a shame how some people act these days. The worst part is that some are not just foreign adversaries, while a few are blatant jealous competitors.
Through direction of my father in the collector car business, what is good for one is also good for the entire hobby (or community) as a whole. I will never take the path that others seem to slide down in this small community.
As you and Tom always have, we will be here to better the cohesive interest of all Prevost owners and enthusiasts.
