The information requested is available to anyone by going to the Prevost car site and looking at the appropriate service manual.
This is the source of Robert Hitt’s response:

Go to: https://techpub.prevostcar.com/en/manuals
put in your unit# under the technical manuals tab, hit search, and it will bring up the technical manual(s) for your bus.
Example: my bus is unit# S5665, so it brings up operators manual # PA-1086, which covers XL unit#s S1409 to T5970.
Liberty rearranged the ac/heat switch layout quite a bit, but the operation is as designed by Prevost. -
Thanks everyone for the responses. I had the owners manual, but it was not clear about compressor operation, just the switch usage.
What Jon was able to get from his contact was a detailed electrical wiring diagram which clearly showed that the compressor should not engage when in heat/vent and what relay controls that operation – From the diagram the A/C clutch should only run with the switch in the A/C position, power comes from the R-33 relay after the alternator starts charging and is power waiting at the switch. Switched to the A/C position the contacts between pin 5 and 1 on the switch, this sends power to post 52 in the FJB then to post 36 in the RJB then down to the High then low pressure switch and if all that is good the clutch is engaged.
So now that it is clear it is not running as expected I can use the diagram info to check relays and see if I can figure out why it is running.
Thanks for the great support as always in this community!!
PS – Having the Prevost electrical diagrams would be awesome as I often find that is the info I need and don’t have. If anyone knows how to get access to those for a coach that would be great.

Prevost has almost every piece of information needed available on their web site.
I would urge anyone that wants to dig into the detail relating to their coach to visit the site and look at then maintenance section where there is access to electrical and pneumatic diagrams as well as owner, operator and service manuals.
It is all there and with very little effort coach specific information is available.

For Prevost wiring diagrams, go to the LINK I provided before, click on wiring diagrams at the top, put in your unit #, click search.
For my bus, unit# S5665, this brings up 32 files/diagrams. On the 3rd page is diagram# d060815, which is the part of this diagram for “heat and ac system full air” for unit#s R1832 to T5679. Click the eye ball looking icon to view the file/diagram. -
Wow – OK – I feel stupid. Didn’t see the wiring diagram section and clearly need to spend more time on that site. A whole new world of info at my fingertips :-). Thanks for the info and patience.
