Wheel valve stem length…….
I’m running a Pressure Pro system with TPMS sensors that screw on the end of the valve stem. (365 tires on steer and tag). My current stems on the steers and tags are too short for my liking, thus I have been running “caps” that extend the stem out far enough for the sensor to clear the wheel.
On my old coach, I had the valve stems replace with slightly longer stems that were long enough that I didn’t need to run the extension “caps”. Does anyone know:
1. Current length of stock valve stems (steer and tag)
2. Length of longer length stem that allow the use of a valve end sensor

UPDATE: Found most of the information I need. OEM valve stem length for the Alcoa aluminum wheels (365/70-22.5) is 2.31 inches. These will actually work with a Pressure Pro TPMS sensor, but it’s a tight fit. A stem in the 3 inch range would be perfect.

On 365 wheels the short stem will work perfectly if the valve stem is centered. The PP sensor will thread on the stem, not bind as it enters the relief hole and a shorter stem helps protect the sensor and keep the sensor from sticking out.
the key is the stem cannot be bent or off center.

Thanks. I discovered that earlier today. I like the protection it gives. I’m staying with the shorter stems.
