  • what type plummers putty for drains

Posted by Robert on September 14, 2014 at 1:47 pm

Is it ok to use regular stainless plummers putty on polished brass sink drain? some putty will coz the drain to tarnish. Did anyone replace a gold polished brass sink drain in kitchen or bathroom into the corian sinks?

Corian fabrication manual advises not to use plumbers putty, we use the recommended silicone in all of our installations of any brand of solid surface.

Thanks for your reply. The installation instructions that came in the Libert Coach on the faucets say not to use plummers putty coz it will attack the polished brass it says to use Alkoxy Silicone but no one knows of that here. The only reason that i am working with the drains and faucets is because the looks of them. they look like bananas that are getting too old after the water in the pea traps had dried up and the septic gases got to them for years and a closedup coach
