  • What is this end used for

    The other end is for pulling down awning

    Not sure what this contraption is made to do

    awnings back in the day had an arm that hooked into the rail at the roller end of the awning for stability. This cradle helped assist the placement.

    Yes! like Les said it is a Zip-Dee tool for large awning that hasn’t had the up grade kit installed yet

    That is actually used on the zip dee awning to pull the pin in the arm allowing the awning to be raised or lowered while in the extended position. It hooks between the side awning arm and the round knob that needs to be pulled to extend the awning upward or lower it once extended.

    Check out this YouTube video, at time mark 2:10 that end of the tool is mentioned but be patient… at time mark 7:54 the tool is actually used.

    Once the up grade is installed no more special tool or ladder is needed way faster and easier

    If you’re not a Midget no tool is needed.
