What is this cable plate for?
Finall getting around to getting Direct Sat at the house so we can have it in the Bus. Direct guy put box in and programmed it to work, rear TV not getting signal so I started looking at wires and markings and I found 2 of these cable receptacles with 5 electrial wires on back side no coax on back , also there is a white box behind tv that I think has something to do with thes receptacles, Does this look familliar ?

They put a box on mine to allow the outside tv to slave off the main one. Does not work real good. If not mistaken , believe it is a signal booster going from HDMI to coax. Best way is to have them put a genie wirless box in the front and broadcast within the bus.

The brown plate is for the OTA antenna on the roof. There is a control that will rotate the antenna when plugged into the plug on the brown plate.

Are you talking OTA overnthe road air? the antenna is fixed and does not move, Those cover plates have 5 little holes in them that go through to the wires so something could plug into it same pattern on white box, Just walked out and found controller with plug that matches, Is this for antenna? I will most likely up date and get rid of this old technology is this a good idea dumping this device?

Yes, that is the antenna controller. It rotates inside the housing, so you cannot see it rotate. They work well, but there is newer stuff around today.

I see there are some that are 360 degrees and does not turn,(less problems)
