    What is this?

    I was tracing a wire in the ceiling and came across a small black box velcrod to a ceiling panel.

    There are no markings on the box at all and there is only 1 wire coming out of the box (or going in whichever may apply). I cannot see the other end of the wire. It disappears inside the ceiling.

    I have no clue what this box is doing.
