We’re on the fringe of political views here boys, keep them coming, it’s a good discussion, but just be careful not to step on the third rail.

This was the worst I have seen it (100 year event). People rely on government and convenient things to much. What they truly do not understand or care about most of the time about ….is where their food and energy comes from …. now for a small moment in history they do…and then they’ll go back to not caring…this is what politicians rely on short memories.
In the end Texas will be stronger for what has happened.

When all we had was coal, oil, or gas it was appropriate to only use those. Today we have alternative means to produce our electric, change is scary but it’s needed because of climate change. A lot of people don’t believe it’s real but just look at what’s going on with this silly weather.
Wind turbines work in temps down to -22 degrees if properly weatherized. They require only 7.5 mph winds to get started, the state with the lowest average wind is Delaware at 12.9 mph.
Solar panels like the one above with snow on it and are partially covered with snow are producing energy and with the angle they put the panels at causes the snow to slide off because of the heat produced by the panel generating power. The panels actually produce more energy in cold or cooler weather than they do in hot weather and they also can produce on partially overcast days.
Change is not what a lot of us like, but if we don’t our kids, grand kids and great grand kids will be fighting to survive the chaos of the ever changing weather, sea level rise, famine from lack crops that won’t grow because we wanted to keep status quo.
Hell, I love driving my bus but, it’s not sustainable for our society to keep relying on an energy source that is killing the planet and making it uninhabitable by our loved ones.

Think of climate change as “mood” swings. Coolers heads yield more temperate moods. Hot heads, yield wilder swings in moods. 50 years ago, summer weather was not as violent. Now the violence of hurricanes, tornadoes, and derechos are more common. Hot heads prevail over cooler heads
