OK, OK, it was me! Phew, got this off my chest and now don’t have to worry about the idle threats, grins and promises about hidden pictures. I had head up ass and pulled the truck with the steering locked. There, now you all know. I can tell you one thing, the bus never new it was back there.
Now I may consider coming forward with information about Jon and a sewer hose. Na, I’ll keep that for awhile.

09 and after, you do not have to pull fuse on Jeeps, just put transfer case in neutral, Trans in park, take key out and go.
I use a Roadmaster All Terrain 10,000# tow bar and base plates. (overkill for the Jeep)
I have a friend that had a restored VW Bug to pull. One day, he arrived at his destination, went back to the Bug to crank it, and it would not do anything. Went around back, and looked at the engine, and found pieces of the motor. Rods, pistons etc were hanging out of the engine. (trans was in 1st gear)
Turns out, leaving a manual in gear, while towing doesn’t work well. Bus never knew it.

Many thanks to all for the great replies and advice. Jon, I appreciate the test you ran and since you’ve provided the results I’ll try to avoid running that one. If I do, that may be one of my best kept secrets!

Trust me. Others have run much the same tests as I have. They are just not sharing that information with anyone.
