I stood on the road, looked down the driveway, and thought to myself: “We have a Prevost Liberty Coach. I need to pinch myself.”

Dick, if you had a Marathon you could actually go drive it!

Last week or two
1) Removed leaking steering assist cylinder from pass side front axle, along with associated lines from cylinder to bulkhead and bulkhead to steering box. Plugged hydraulic ports on box. Prevost has a Service Bulletin on doing this (Dec 96 I think). Also changed P/S filter and about 1 1/2 gal of fluid.
2) Repaired leaking tag axle lift chamber, replaced diaphragm.
3) Replaced tax axle maxi’s (spring brake) chambers with service chambers only. Been having an issue with tag calipers slightly dragging. Exact same calipers and brackets as steer axle – spring brakes were only variable. I think applied spring puts considerably more pressure on caliper than service brake application, and it sits that way (or did) way more than free.
4) Few weeks ago, replaced all house (6 4D’s) and two gen start batteries. THANKS Tom for the great service!

Today I replaced all my Norgrens and fittings in the steer bay.

Thank You, I am almost done with the Undercarriage, I have to replace my Tag lift Norgren, then I am moving to the Country Coach ECC. I have a burnt trace on one of the boards, and a few things are not working. Tomorrow is ECC day!

Mike:
Replaced mine about a year ago, BUT my cone was facing inward towards the steering compartment so I reinstalled it that way. Any body know which way is proper or if it even makes a difference?

removed panel and had planned on just reconnecting or something simple. Nope; so I had some 1/4 in stainless round stock so a little bending and new threads and now we can get out from inside. No blood spilled on this project! Bob

Chuck, I was going to make the same comment. Mine is installed with the cone inside the bay. Curious which is correct.

Just finished replacing driver’s rear bags and rear 5 port leveling valves, replaced passengers rear bags last week. The passenger side had 1995 bags that were in amazingly good condition. The driver’s side drive axle had ’08 bags while the tag had a ’95 bag. I’m amazed at how durable the air bags are, to be 26 years old and minimal cracking. Tomorrow the front driver’s side windshield. My I’m having too much fun (not).

Today it was Country Coach ECC day. Some of you folks may have an older Country Coach like me, I had a few things that didn’t work like my Fog lights and my drivers side Docking lights. I have no CC schematics for my Bus, so I went thru each button inside the coach and identified every relay and device on each of these Boards. Well low and behold my Docking and Fog lights were on the Board with a Burned Ground Trace. See the pictures, I spliced in a wire, and Voila! I have Fog Lights and Drivers side docking lights. This was real easy to solder on, i just used a small piece of wire and jumpered across where the PCB trace was. I think Eventually if I keep the bus and have any issues, I am going to Replace this ECC with a Modern PLC.
