  • What are these for?

Posted by Bill on March 3, 2022 at 1:09 pm

After using the shower, we would lose about 70% of our water pressure after a few minutes of use. Meaning we had pressure in the beginning but then it would never return until it was shut off for 15 or so minutes. When using the on-board water pump it was fine. I finally had enough of it and started digging around. It is one of the 2 pieces below.

My question is why are either necessary? I obviously understand the reason behind the regulator. However, why not just use the ball valve and have an inline gauge? Just manually set it to where it is safe.

Also what is the other thing with the white piece of plastic in it?

Do not both of these pieces just ultimately restrict the available flow? Speaking of, what is the max pressure you should run? 1993 Liberty

    Thanks

Burglar tools. They look like keys to pull a radio/stereo/CD player out of the dash or any place one is mounted.

Two butter knives will work as well.

Ron, those 2 items pictured are tools used tp slip-in on the side 3 and 9 positions of your AM-FM radios found on several Marathon locations.

If you have a radio failure…they make short work on the project releasing spring clips.

Thank you, Al and every one else that answered.

You cant regulate pressure incrementally with a valve. Only flow.

Ok that makes sense. Why is it so restricted in size compared to the line before and after it?

Also what is the other piece for?

Looks like a check valve. Does move open freely or is is stuck?

If its stuck thats would explain your symptoms. Its trickling through and filling your expansion tank. Then when the expansion tank gets depleted during the shower you are relying on actual available flow at that check valve. Then when it sits it trickles in filling the expansion tank again and you have another spell of good pressure.
