We discovered some roof leaks during very heavy rain at a rally in Ohio at the end of September. We are having the roof redone over the winter and some paint work. So far I (Bruce) am very pleased with the shop we are using, but I will wait to offer an opinion/recommendation until the work is done and I can post some photographs to back it up. If you must know sooner … just ask.

We also recently removed two old CRT television sets. I had doors made to cover the openings using walnut veneer plywood for stability with solid walnut trim. The work was done by a guy in Logansport, IN and he did a nice job for a fair price. I (Bruce again) installed the doors with hinges on one edge and 2 ball catches on the other. Very hard to open, so they should stay closed. I mounted a Samsung LCD/LED flat screen TV on each door. The TV’s are just over 1″ thick and I found a simple mount that is under 1″ thick. Recovered a lot of potential storage space inside the cabinets where the TVs were. Now I need to figure out how best to use that space.

    Bruce…….

There is an upgrade to the big glass picture tube TVs (now about 17 years old) and the current flat screen TVs in our future. Ours all work fine and they do all we ask of them right now, but clearly they are on borrowed time.

My concerns are connections and compatibility when the time comes. My desire to enter the smart phone era of electronic devices runs a close second to my desire to eat bees. We have the flat screen TV and extensive electronics in our home, but none of that equipment uses the inputs our coach TV has. We have a single cable TV connection, where our home TV has a wire bundle sufficient to choke a horse including HTML (whatever that is). When you removed your old style TV’s did you have to have any new wiring, could you use the existing connections, or could you use simple adapters.

Talk slow. I am not a fast learner.

Jon, it’s HDMI. HTML is quite possibly what you’ve been using to write this site.

Now, rather than worrying you pretty little head about how to make it all work as a retrofit, perhaps it is time to revisit a NEW Liberty!

    Karl,

I will continue to represent the “before” portion of the Liberty ads rather than the “after” portion.

I like to think of my coach as the reason people should buy a new Liberty. If a Liberty will last that long and look so good it must be a good coach, right?

    I can’t fault you there.

For lack of another place to post this (should probably be a forum just for the site) I don’t understand the icons next to the threads and forums that say “New”. There have been a couple where there was nothing new since I was on this morning, some where I was the last post (so I don’t care if the thread is “New”) and if there WAS something new I had to scroll through the entire thread to get to it.

Adding to what Tom has said, he and I have been looking for things that need to be corrected, improved or changed on this forum. So if anyone has suggestions or comments post them anywhere you want as soon as they come to mind. We read every post and right now we are trying to fix anything that needs fixing.

Clicking on “View posts since your last visit” does take me to prevostcommunity.com/forum/newPosts.asp, but the search results show no threads. I’ll look again after Monday. I’m sure you guys are staying plenty busy getting the bugs all ironed out. Thanks for doing all the work for us.

Remembering my password on the login screen is nice, but a cookie that enables me to skip the login screen is better.

    Jon,

We replaced our old 20″ CRT TV with a 32″ Samsung LED. While the new TV will except several types of inputs, the old coaxial cable screws right on and works just fine.

There might be hope for me after all. Our TV at home looks like the back of a computer with all the wires and cables, inputs and outputs.
