Things went very well at Parliament. One can’t see it from the road, but the combination of buildings that were Coach Worx added to the Parliament facilities is extensive. Although I do not think they are manufacturing any new coaches, it looks to me like the skills and facilites to tackle about any coach need resides there.

I did overhear an intersting story while hanging out in the service office. Seems a Prevost ( I didn’t catch the converter ) was left in storage while the owner/s went overseas. Now there is an interest from the owners to sell, but they need it brought to running condition to do that.

They left the US fourteen years ago! The building with the coach was never opened in that entire time. I understand the coach was fairly new when they left. I heard the carpet still had the plastic on it and the paint was shiny under the dust. You guys can probably peg the age pretty close as the engine was a series 60 with an Allison 5 speed. Yes, they just left it there with the batteries and fuel still in it. I heard the generator was totally covered in insulation that had fallen on it making it look like it was wrapped in a blanket.

Do you think the cost of restoration can ever be recovered? I think if I were the owner I would advertise it “as is” and hope someone with the time and talent would take it on as a “project”. I hope I hear what the final outcome is. Russ

That would peg it as a 45 foot built around 1994. The Series 60 was introduced into the Prevost then, but only on 45 footers because the length of the 5 speed transmission was longer than the 6 speed so that power train would not fit the 40 footers. If it sat for 14 years it is possible that repairs could be very expensive, possibly equalling its market value for a coach that age. I would be worried about rust and corrosion in the engine, generator, damage from battery acid, delamination of interior finishes, etc.

But it would be interesting to throw in new chassis batteries and crank it up.

That is exactly what they did. It apparently ran for just a little bit and then stopped. They applied air to the system and several hoses leaked or became separated at the fittings. It was suggested that it be towed to Parliament for further work. Russ

Increase my estimates for the cost of bringing it back to life. The fact it shut off quickly suggest algae in the fuel or failure of fuel lines. Someone with time money and patience could buy themselves a hobby.
