WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
Posted by needtocamp on September 4, 2014 at 8:10 amIt is no surprise that Prevost Community has had amazing growth, and with that growth has come the ability to continue offering benefits to its members, such as the fuel, tire, NAPA, and RV resort discount programs.
What was a surprise this morning was our largest single day of new registrants with 11 new members joining us. Thanks for joining and we hope you will participate in our forum and our discount programs. This is your site so take advantage of what it offers.

Wow! Something is going on. We just approved 9 more members so today’s total is now 20 new members and it is just past 9:00 AM eastern.
The bad news is we are limited in how may IP addresses we can search with 20 a day being the limit so if you are a new regristrant and you have not received an email with your password please be patient. As soon as we can continue verifying IP addresses we will send your password.
We do check all registrants to avoid problems with people that have nothing better to do than to disrupt web sites such as hackers and people trying to sell products not appropriate for our site like adult toys.

We now have 8 more new registrants who will be getting their password as soon as we can get access to the site we use to check IP addresses. In the meantime can any of the newest members send us an email letting us know where you heard about Prevost Community.
And new member “Pixie”……..your email address gets kicked back. Send us an email with your accurate email address and you will get your password. Until we have a valid email address we cannot send your password.
Phew………we are earning our money today. Dues can be expected to double because of all this work.

Congrats Jon and Tom, and hearty welcome the the new members!
Jon, there are a myriad of free sites out there to check the validity and location of IP addresses – unlimited.
I use http://www.iplocation.net, but if you simply stuff the IP address into googe’s search bar, you can pretty much answer your concerns simply by looking at the output. On my forum, all I do is google the registrants userid, email, and ip address. I used to have a policy of not allowing proxy ip address, such as tor, but I’ve relaxed that a bit and haven’t had issues. It seems to be more and more common that legitimate registrants use these services, so I’ll occasionally approve registrants from other countries. I do actually have a member who does live and operate his Wanderlodge in Belgium, so it’s important not to discount foreign country ip addresses too quickly!
I’ve adopted the policy that I’d rather err on the side of allowing someone in that I shouldn’t then decline someone who I should. Besides, I have ‘remove spammer’ software on my forum which in a single key stroke deletes all traces of a spammer, and I have a ‘report’ mechanism which allows the membership to notify me of posting abuse – two good things to have.

Sid and I got thru….. we’re able to keep our postings on.
I’am sure they will catch us someday but for the time being we have dodged the dues bullet.
-
David, I know that but the one we use is right up on our admin page where I review new applications. We have such a line up now I am sure the ease with which I can use just a click or two to verify some things is worth far more to me than the extra time needed to access another IP address site. When the rush is over (and it will be) things will get back to normal.

considering the huge number of existing members, it is time now to ask for a reduction of our membership dues!
Don’t you agree?

Good job everybody, I am in Richmond VA near DC just got here pretty drive 600 miles from Ann Arbor MI

Ronald – Done, your dues have been reduced again…. Jon didn’t want to do it, but I reminded him to take a look at the side of your bus.
David – Jon checks every single IP address , but we exceeded our daily limit, a good thing.

If Big Al doesn’t start posting updates on his search I believe we need to vote about his membership dues.
Just sayin
-
Al is part of a select group of members that we pay to belong.
Because of his good looks, his informative posts, his expertise at repairing toilets, and the fact he was instrumental in getting our NAPA discount program going we have had to pay him serious money to show up on the site.
He promised to share his earnings with some of you. Contact Al direct for your share.

This is an open message to the new registrants. As of this morning we are still verifying all the new members. Even if no more register it may take as long as two days to get through the list.
Some of the new registrants however will not be able to get their passwords because we cannot email them. The messages we are getting about delivery failures is showing the emails sent from our site are being blocked apparently due to your security settings. If we cannot send your password, you cannot log in and particpate on the forum or the discount programs.
If you have not gotten an automatically generated response within a short time after registering your email security is blocking our emails. You have to change your security settings to allow our emails. Also, before submitting a registration make absolutely sure your email address is correct. An incorrect email address will also result in a delivery failure.
If you have gotten the email message and have not yet received your password do not worry. we will get through the backlog eventually. it may take a couple of days, but we will get there. In the meantime feel free to enjoy the site, all of which is accessible to anyone.
