Webasto inop
I went to fire up the Webasto 2 days ago due to being outside in some pretty cold weather. When parked like this I use 2 small space heaters, one in the galley & 1 in bath, keeps about 45ish ok. However, with no previous problems, it did not fire. The lights above the dash to turn it on came on as usual, the circ pump started, but the burner did not fire. Tried couple time. Pulled head out , noticed a small amount of fuel, cleaned the little window and checked spacing on electrodes all ok. Finally found my spare new nozzle will change tomarrow. It was serviced last April, and I give it a check about every 4-5 weeks along with my generator as a matter of maintanence.I have good 12V coming into the brain box..

Hopefully it’s the nozze Roger. Can you hear the coil firing, kind of a snapping sound? If the coil is working and the nozzle is plugged, it will just squirt a stream and won’t fire. If it does turn out to be the nozzle, you’ll see lots of white smoke when it starts and takes awhile to burn off the raw fuel. When I did mine last month, the campground thought I was fogging for no-see-ums….

I recently had the exact same issue with mine and I replaced all things from nozzle to ignitor but still nothing. I checked continuity on the fuses in the back and found that one was loose and not making proper connection. Tightened things up and it fired right up. Be sure to check there for good contact and that one does not need to be reset.

Hey Roger, if it is cold enough outside, 45 or below, you might have to preheat the thing. Should have a button above the steering wheel or where ever the switch to turn on the Webasto and turn on the central heat or interior heat exchangers is. They get real funny about starting for the first time when its cold outside. Once started they seem to work fine on through the night.

Buddy, thanx for the insight. Right now I can’t start the engine to warm up the engine compartment, seems I haven’t gotten to that post yet. Starter is no-go and waiting for weather break so I can pull starter. Need to give the engine a little twist first without starter, as the starter is grinding, but not spinning the motor. Every day…glad this happened when we were home.
