The webasto does heat the water through the water heater without the electric one on but you have to open and close some valves to get that to work ,also the motor will heat the hot water when the motor is running as long as the valves are open, anytime the webasto is on the circulation pump will run all the time , any one of these options uses the water heater tank just different heating sources

It does heat from those. But very slow recovery.

There are two or three in water bay that need to be open a certain amount and closed a certain amount to heat with the webasto the ones in the back also have to be open, but I don’t know if you have two valves in water bay or three

I only have two one for anti freeze from the motor in and out on the top of the water tank.

Correct me but the webasto heats the motor and then the antifreeze passes from the motor to the hot water tank. Cause if I turn off my engine preheat knob in the Webasto it doesn’t heat the hot water anymore. But both my knobs above the hot water heater are open and get super hot when the engine loop valve is open. It just runs out of hot water. I think I need to do a tankless too.

In order for the webasto to put heat to the heat exchanger in the water bay or hot water tank the engine preheat valve has to be open with the motor turned off and you are parked

An H is set up a little different than the XL coaches so I cannot tell you where to find the valves, but I can tell you that Peter is correct.

Your Webasto has valves that will enable you to heat the house and the engine simultaneously, or you can shut off either loop so you are heating only one or the other. The Raritan HW tank has a loop also, but if your H is like my XLs the water tank loop is controlled by valves located near the tank. If it helps in both cases with my X coaches the valves were located above the tank, secured to the ceiling of the bay.

Some owners have shut them off because when the HW tank is heated with coolant and the heat source is the engine the water in the tank can get up to 200 plus degrees which is a serious scalding potential.

There are other issues related to the high temp problem so start at the tank coolant inlet and outlet and follow them and you should find the valves.

Once you locate all the valves related to cooland and Webasto system you can then adjust them to suit your needs.

If you are running out of hot water the Raratin has a thermostat in it that is adjustable,just turn off the power or un plug it and remove the cover and you will see it,I usually turn mine up to 140-150 and then I have enough hot water.

Just pulling my 17 year old raritan out and replacing ‘just because’ while doing other work in that bay. If you’re having problems with the Liberty setup, it’s likely something simple…my experience has been excellent.
