First I would consider changing the heat exchangers that are there to differant ones. If you can put larger ones in than it is usually cheaper to duct the units behind cabinets or furniture to where you need…However you have to have large enough units with enough air flow to push it….

There are several on here with knowledge of Legendary coaches. They might jump in. I have no clue how Legendary set up the valving or loops for the Webasto but aa good starting point would be to find out valves for house heat exchangers are fully open, and that a loop to the engine is closed and the water heater loop if equipped is closed just to see if that helps.

Are the fans all working? Is anything inhibiting air flow? Pick the low hanging fruit to insure everything has been done to maximize heat into the house before deciding to re-engineer the coach. Generally converters do a very good job and if something doesn’t work as it is presumed it should verify the systems don’t have something simple creating the problem like a duct not connected or properly directing air flow.

We have dry camped in temps as low as 26 below and have had ample heat, but we also did what we could to insure our comfort by doing things I said above and other small but sometimes important things like closing the blinds to get another layer of insulation between cold glass and the warm area.

I have an 2008 Legendary xl2 double slide 45 with 4 heat exchangers (1 console beside drivers seat, 1 under kitchen sink galley, 1 bath/shower area,( splits with the water bay) 1 bedroom). Coach is comfy at about 25 degrees outdoors, below that supplemental heat can be obtained from the two kick heaters – We haven’t froze up yet I also have 4 roof air heat pumps and can run all systems simultaneously on generator

the blowers are two speed- too noisy on high for my taste but I do have a good sound surround system

two big pluses: The burner is located as far to the rear of the coach as possible to minimize the noise in the bedroom and it has an exhaust out the rear of the coach – not under the coach – a preferred set up compared to my previous coaches.

I had a CC with heated floors and that was the best heat – wished this Legendary had them

I would say 50k btu of heat is barely enough for that bus on a COLD winter day/nite. Just like 50k BTUs of air conditioning would barely be enough for that bus on a hot/humid summer day.

Art, convert it to the 2020 80K+ btu Webasto. You need something to do now that you have your bus whipped into shape, right?

There are a lot of coaches represented on this forum with an Aquahot and the 40,000 BTU heater from Webasto and I cannot recall anyone claiming a problem staying warm.

We are on a trip and it’s in the mid 40’s and raining. I decided to turn on the roof heat pumps for the first time (living room and bedroom heat pumps). Wow, they work very well!

There are so many ways to heat our coaches, Webasto furnace, floor heating, toe-kick heaters, heat pumps, etc., etc.

Heat pumps are great But! A little noisy and in low temps under low 30’s they don’t work.

Our Liberty 45XL has the 2020 & 6 heat exchangers. I think it was built for Alaska! Spent 3 weeks in 20f recently & it will cook the coach at a cost of 0.8 gal of fuel per hr. My opinion is the 2020 is over kill. 2010 seems to be the standard. You must have the heat exchangers to get the heat into the coach & the flow valves set correctly.

ok. I can’t get rid of the sound of air bubbles circulating through the Webasto in my 06 Marathon H. Main pump has been fully rebuilt and re-examined and system has been bled from engine radiator high spot, Webasto pump, and at secondary pump behind passenger front wheel. I found out that with that bleed, they did not check the pump. They just burped it at relief valve. Do you think that pump is bad?

It is unlikely the pump is bad if coolant is circulating to the heat exchangers through the coach.

How do you turn fan speed up on floor registers min will only increase fan speed on heat pump or air cond

Those are likely converter installed fans and I am not aware any were variable speed.

Dan, mine has a High heat button in the main switch cabinet. It’ll speed up your fans.
