PowerTech Generators with Kubota engine or Yanmar engine?? Did you check small round DC volt curcuit breaker at engine controls
-
It would try to start but then blew the 12 volt breaker, got that fixed now it will try to start but will never really catch. Acts like it’s a control issue. The iPad keeps giving gen error

How much diesel fuel do you have in the tank? Typically generator fuel pickup is attached about a 1/4 way up from the bottom so that the generator doesn’t completely drain the tank. It might not be getting any fuel.
Once the generator engine runs out of fuel, it sucks air, and usually won’t prime itself after the big tank has been filled. The air in the fuel line must be purged. IIRC on the Yannmar of our Kohler generator there is a bolt or fitting I must loosen to let the air escape which the generator starter motor spins the Yannmar. IIRC it will cough, sneeze, and flatulate a few times then finally catch and keep running. IIRC I used a box wrench and found out that I needed to quickly close the fitting or bolt as diesel fuel wanted to escape.
Check the generator owners manual for the location of the fitting or bolt to loosen for purging. Keep us posted.
