  • Water where it should not be

Posted by George on June 23, 2020 at 8:46 pm

When I drilled the hole in side of bus to install side camera a stream of water came out of hole. It was probably five to six ounces. It spewed out approximately 6 inches or more at first.

When I drilled the lowest hole for mount more water came out. The hole on the inside of the bus below the transmission selector was just about to the bottom of this pocket. The big concern is that the hole for the wire comes out into the cavity just above the electrical panel.

I need to find source of water to this foam filed pocket to prevent water dripping onto the electric connections.

    Any suggestions welcome.

Below are the pictures of the mount for camera.

The most likely source is the driver window. Where ever the paint is cracked around the frame of the window and the bus I would scrape clean with a sharp tool and repaint. Any screw that is exposed same thing, remove it, put silicone on the threads and put it back in, then paint the head again. I just went and looked at my bus, im surprised the water didnt already drain out of there into your junction compartment.
