Here is a Master repair kit complete with impeller, screens. Don’t know if it fits your pump, but only $360.

Mine had the same problem. After inspecting it turned out to be just an o-ring.

Try this website for all you might want to know to repair it instead of replacing.

Yep, paid about $25000 for mine. My old one was still working fine it just had a drip drip at the pump shaft. O ring will most likely fix it , have it on the shelf for future. Make sure you get proper voltage if you replace it. They come in 12V and 24V. I wanted a direct replacement so none of the plumbing would have to be changed. And i thought , The old one lasted 18 years…….. Dang thing is rather loud though.

A new friend here at Prevost Jack has a Liberty and he is not sure how to get the water pump to work . I think we need to start where how does she get her power ? Is there a fuse that may be tripped ? He just purchased the coach . Can someone give me some ideas on where to start the trouble shooting ? Thank you in advance .

First make sure the pump will turn or is it locked up. If it’s locked up – then the auto resetting fuse will have switched off and you have to cut power to it to reset itself. But if the pump is locked up – then you have to fix that first (as in has it worked recently or been sitting a long while). So check the shaft first.
If that’s not the case – do you hear the solenoid switch on/off when you turn the water pump on. The solenoid has to click on/off if power is going to the pump. You should check with a volt meter if the power is going to the solenoid (the two small leads should read 13 or 26 depending on your voltage).
if voltage is present there, then check it the solenoid is switching power to the pump unit. Take a reading on the pump side of the solenoid and ground and see if you get voltage. Then we can go from there.

Year of conversion and make of pump will help us help your new friend.

She is the same year and model of the threads title . Even when inside coach there seems to be no power to the board . Plugged in gave us no AC ? Could the 2 issues be tied together ?

I am going by memory but two things come to mind. The shaft on the pump is exposed between the motor and pump and it can possibly be turned by hand to verify it is not locked up.

The second thing is I seem to recall Liberty fed the pump via 2 #8 wires from the electric compartment, each being fused. If no power check there.

The Groco takes a lot of power to run. I replaced mine on my 97 and I found a brand new one on ebay about half the price. It is a DC pump and switching to a Headhunter means getting a source of 120VAC in the bay (maybe use the heater outlet?) and then modify the plumbing. My guess is the cost is going to come in close to either choice. I would absolutely not go with a Shurflo unless you are willing to sacrifice some performance reduction and are willing to add an accumulator tank dedicated to the Headhunter toilet.

Al, ask him to do two things. Have him sign on to PC and then never hesitate to ask questions. Make him comfortable with the fact not a single one of our 4500 members knew anything about a Prevost when they got their first so any and all questions are valid and important.

You may give him my email. It is active by clicking on my user name on a post. I have had 3 Libertys including a 97 so I may be able to help.

If he is getting or not getting shore power to the coach that can be a contributing factor to some issues. Start with the shore power receptacle and make sure it has power to it. If it has he has things he needs to check, but he does have options. I think he has a cord reel. If that doesn’t get power to the coach, he can try the connections on the sideof the coach with a power cord, just make sure the switch in the transfer box has the power source selected. If still not power (might be a contactor in the transfer switch) start the generator and see if that get power to the coach.

If anyone is uncomfortable with electric get someone that is. Shore and generator power is dangerous.

I agree Jon and Chuck states he will be signing up this evening . Thank you for the quick response . By chance can you tell me where that transfer switch is located ?
