This is not intended to start a fight, but it needs to be in context.

Liberty has a nice stainless steel box with a hinged door bolted above the chassis batteries accessible via the passenger side engine door. It has compartments separated so you can store the water hose(s) and two sections of sewer hose. There is enough room in the top section for me to also store all my spare belts. The box is ventilated via louvers so if a hose drains water it will dry out.

This is a good and convenient idea because the way my XLII is set up that space is open. I do not know if other converters have that space open or if H models have space in that area.

If you do a search there are all kinds and sizes of aluminum boxes and drawer units that would be ideal for hose storage or even storage of other items like belts. There is a large number of companies making boxes and drawer units of various sizes, mostly for the interiors of utility or service vans.

I store my ‘extra’ water hoses (three 25′ hoses) behind the front bumper in the storage compartment. I have used them several times but not often.

My regular water hoses (one for grey water and one for fresh water) are in the second bay driver’s side where I keep the tub for the sewer hose. I keep the hoses separate, drain them and screw the ends together so no water will leak out.

Liberty also supplies sewer hoses in the built-in stainless steel sewer hose container in the water bay (5th bay driver’s side). I only use those hoses if the sewer dump is further than my back bumper as they reach further. Otherwise, I like my RhinoFLEX hose for regular use.

I haven’t put anything in the storage box at the passenger side engine compartment. That area obviously gets hot from the engine so I haven’t needed it for storage yet. There is a plastic shield below that area as my Macerator connector is located there too.

My batteries (3 Lithium) are located in the 4th bay driver’s side with the 4 inverters. The Espar is above the drive/tag axles on the driver’s side.

I have two or three plastic milk crates in the curb side tag bay set to the front of the bay that hold fluids, belts, etc. The crates might be smaller than “regular sized” milk crates.

Behind the crate I snake the sewer hoses back and forth on the floor of the bay with caps on them. The fresh water hose is a black on from Sears and is pretty stiff, resists kinking, easily can be shaped into a roll on the ground, and when I connect the ends can be easy pushed into the tag bay and sit on top of the sewer hoses.

Liberty has very thoughtfully put a small hinged door on our coach between and above the drive and tag tires on both side of the coach. Behind the doors is a steel tube which I thought was for sewer lines, but the connectors on the ends of the hoses won’t fit on. One of my projects is to replace the tubes with bigging tubes and maybe tubes with a radius pointing down to allow for longer hoses and promote drainage to the road.

Marathons are standard now with a 100 ft electric wound hose reel next to the plumbing bay if you don’t want to use the quick connects.

I use two 50′ Zero G foldable hoses which store easily in a cloth tote that hangs inside the water compartment. This allows the hoses to dry out and keeps them well away from the sewer hoses. These Zero G hoses are light years better than the old white ones I used to buy from Camping World. Those thing would leak within the first few uses and Camping World stopped honoring the warrantee on them.

CC installed a spring roller for a standard water hose from the factory but it is faster and easier to use the Zero G hoses. We never leave city water hooked up and instead run off the fresh water tank. We once saw the impact on a coach near by when city water pressure burst a pipe inside while they were gone someone walking by saw water coming out the door and turned off the water but the damage was already done.

I store sewer hoses both in the compartment over the drive and tags and in two 4″ tubes on the floor of a pass through compartment. The end cap has a hole drilled in it and the load side is open. The tubes are of a length that requires a push to get them all the way in. A 1/4″ chrome pin fits diagonally at the opening to keep the hoses in place. I built a ledge over those two tubes so lose little in the way of storage. From the cap end the area between the tubes makes for good storage of things with long handles.

where we stay on the beach in Mexico the spots were laid out for pull trailers so when we head in to face the beach we have to run a long way to get to the sewer. This setup allow storing of 60′ of sewer hose without hassle, mess or loss of storage space in the bays.

My Featherlight has 1 25 foot ish retractable hose. It is located right below the 50 amp power cable reel. The power cable is electric. My hose i just manually pull the right length and it locks into place. A small tug and it unlocks and reels back in. I have a separate hose in my front storage bay if I want to wash the bus or other needs.

Hi Dick,

I can’t remember for sure but it is at least three or four years. I had one leak near the coupler. The company asked me to text pics of both ends cut off. As soon as they got that text they sent a new hose. I’m not sure how they would do in really hot weather under pressure all the time, but that is not how I use them. They come in 1/2″ and 5/8″. Very little difference in bulk so I carry the 5/8″. Makes filling the water tank a bit faster.
