I look at the color, they look dirty I change them. I change them about once a month, if I am on the road if at home never.

Tom before I start a trip I replace all the filter and the RO system filters. Thereafter the filters are replaced at least once a month if not more than once a month. Fulter are cheap I buy ours from homedepot or ACE. Even after all these changes to the filters Sue will not drink any water unless its bottled. Go figure!!!!! We keep water companies in business.

about drinking tap water!

I have been drinking unfiltered tap water from a well for close to 20 years and single filter fridge water for about as long.

Do I look like it has done any harm to me in any ways?

I have found from DripWorks.com, an irrigation supplier, a filter to put in front of all the filters in the coach. The FAM34200 has a valve at the bottom that can be opened to flush the sediment out clearing the filter without replacing the screen each time. Keeps the big sediment out of the onboard filters.

where do you find the filters at home depot , I took mine old filter in there and they looked at me like i was from mars…… does any one have the part number for the filter?

My filter housing looks like the one shown in the original post and I can get cartridges at HD or Lowe’s. If you have an unusual size or type you might consider just replacing the entire unit so you can use standard filters.

But in addition to keeping clean filters I also sanitize the system at least twice a year by adding about 2 cups of Chlorox to a nearly full tank, running that water through all plumbing fixtures until I clearly smell the chlorine at each one, letting it sit for an hour or so. Then I drain the tank completely along with the HW tank, refill with fresh water, and run water through the system to flush out the chlorine treated water from the piping and devices.

And then I avoid drinking the water, but instead drink beer.
