Water & Electrics don’t Mix
Sometimes I wonder what these engineers were thinking, even the ones at Marathon. Here they installed a water filter and instant hot tank next to a Tecklink node. Now mind you, this is all hidden behind a wall board under the kitchen counter and not readily visible. Well, the white fitting (supply line)on the top of the filter cracked and sprayed water all over the electrics. Now the Node functions don’t work! I’ve spoken to Leon and dried with a hair dryer for two daysbut no luck. So I will need a new Node programed and installed. I am also going to remove the filter and instant hot from that location..
I am going to remove the P.O.S. dishwasher from under the sinks and relocate the filter & I/H there.
This is my 4th big coach. Seems like everyone of them required a full time mechanic on board. After spending over $5 grand at Jeff’s last week for service and 8 new air bags, we no sooner got out of his drive when the check engine light came on and went off after a few minutes. Sure enough,next day it came on again. We were near Prevost Nashville and called Dave there which said they are now not equipped to diagnose S60 issues (only Volvo) so we went to Clark Power in Memphis and the tech there read the codes which were showing low voltage to the barometric pressure sensor but we couldn’t get the “check engine light” to come on again. So spent another $360 with no resulting fix except to determine the code..Now we are at Ozarks Resort @ Table Rock Lake with an appointment Monday at American Fleet in Springfield,MO to hopefully get the issue resolved. Danny thinks it probably is a short in the barometric pressure sensor wiring harness.
So we will change that and see if it fixes the problem.Sometimes I wonder if owning a big bus is worth the HASSLE!!!!

Man i feel your pain and this is why I posted the old and new thread. Thinking about upgrading to a newer coach and wonder if anybody is building my old style coach. KISS method. Mine only has 86,000 miles on it, running the old 8V 2 stroke, witha 755CR trans, but what the heah, run it till it pukes and let somebody use it as a hunting blind. We all buy these knowng they are expensive. The deal is with mine, I bought way cheap and knew the one owner, Old Fella that passed and can afford to fix anything that breaks..Good luck on your fixes.

Thanks Tom, I appreciate it. Danny @ American Fleet seems to think it’s probably the wiring harness. He has several in stock. Hopefully, that will cure that problem. Unfortunately, his S60 tech is on vacation this week so we wait ’till Monday. We’re here at Ozark ’till Friday anyway so waiting is no big deal.
I apoligize for getting this thread off topic as I started out just to make other Marathon owners aware of the potential water/electric issue probably in many Marathons.
