  • Watchdog or Gen problem?

Posted by Tommy on January 20, 2020 at 10:03 am

I pulled in a Walmart to spend the night yesterday and tried to start my generator and it fired right up and shut down immediately. My watchdog had shut it down and gave a oil pressure light. Re-set it and tried one more time. Same thing. I don’t feel it is the generator oil pressure but I guess I should check the sending unit. Can someone tell me if I can test or ohm out the sending unit to see if it is good or if there is anything else I should look at? Looks like I better get this sorted out before I go to West Palm!

    Thanks

Flip the fan over ride switch in the second bay drivers side and unplug the watchdog, start the gen on the gen itself and does it start and stay running….could be several things..

Did not make any difference. Gen shut down as fast as it started.

How much fuel do you have in main tanks ?

I’am sure your aware as fuel gets low in main tanks the generator is first to shut down.

Just going back to basics …
