Watch Dog Question
Started my generator from inside the coach yesterday and it ran for 30 seconds and shut down. Looked at the watch dog and found that it had shut it down and show the over temp lite on. Obviousily that was not the case in running 30 seconds. Re-set and tried a couple of more times with the same result. I then went to the generator and started it manually on the generator itself and it ran fine and pulled the electrical load without a glitch. Does this sound like a oil temp sensor problem or a problem with the watch dog? Any advice?

The watchdog does not have a oil temp sensor. It has a water temp sensor and an oil pressure sensor.
I found when I was doing a coolant flush-n-fill that they are prone to an airlock near that water temp sensor, near the thermostat housing, and the watchdog shuts her down mighty quik, kinda like what your describing?

Thanks Don. I had just changed oil in the generator a couple of days before. Guess I better go back over things and see if a wire is loose or something.

There is a wire that has a connection in it that runs in front of the engine to the fuel pump. If it has been accidentally disconnected, it will shut down in about 30 seconds… I bet it was hit and somehow disconnected. Start at the fuel pump and look at any and all wires.

I think he has a Kohler with the Yanmar engine Pres and I think you have a Kubota powered Power Tech?
If so his is different.
