Voltage Regulator
Hi PC,
My Alternator gauge is “surging” up to 30 volts occasionally. About a year ago I replaced my 50 DN Alternator with one that I got at Elreg for a good price and it’s been performing well. I have the original Delco Remy regulator on the bus. I disconnected all the chassis batteries and checked them and they are all good.
They don’t make the old style regulators anymore but I found a replacement (I think) Delco Remy # 10503805 the old part number is # 3318447. But there seem to be different types out there with the same part number and I’m not sure if I have the right replacement. I know most come preset to 28.5 volts but some ads on eBay and other places too don’t list that or if it’s a direct replacement.
Which one is the right one to use or does it make a difference?
Thanks for your input.
Fred
