    Bill,

The run of the mill load tester won’t test AGM or Gel. If you have an old tester, just use the tester to put a load on the battery, but use a multi meter for for the voltage and forget the tester gauge.

Wondering what is the CCA rating of your battery. You may be having an issue of not enough amps available.

There are many 12v batteries that will show good voltage and not be able to activate the solenoid and turn the starter.

I hate to read everything again, but I think you said it starts with the manual switch and not with the automatic. In that case since you think the battery is fine look to the automatic switch circuit. There may be dirty contacts and or loose connections.

    Just sayin, JIM

Why don’t you just try a new battery just any battery you know is good ,,, un hook the wires from the gen battery and run jumper cables from your auto battery to the gen batterys cables and see if that solves the problum , if it dose you may assume the battery was bad . Soluition tow your auto and run some long cables from the gen cables to your auto or buy a new battery.
